Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano had their "final beat" in April 2020, but the two friends turned enemies gave glancing looks last Tuesday on NXT.
The brief staredown, and Ciampa being the reigning NXT Champion, reminded fans of their longtime rivalry and had many wondering if they would meet again.
Speaking to Planeta Wrestling, Ciampa weighed in on another showdown with Gargano.
"No," he said when asked about facing Gargano again. "No. Right now? No. He's not on the top of my list. I like keeping my title. Stay away from him, he can go get the North American Title."
While NXT has changed up its look and moved to NXT 2.0, Ciampa has remained the face of the brand.
When asked for his thoughts on NXT's makeover, Ciampa said, "It's super exciting. It's great watching guys develop. They've been put on a fast track, sink or swim, a lot of obstacles to overcome and it's cool to watch and be part of that. To see guys like Bron (Breakker) who take off right away and a lot of other people who have been working really hard and waiting for an opening for a long time. It's exciting to see."
Ciampa is currently overseas as part of the WWE UK Tour where he is defending the NXT Championship.
Fightful will have live coverage of NXT beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
