Tony D’Angelo States That His WWE NXT Hiatus Was Not Injury-Related, Says It Was A Reset
Tony D opens up about his absence.
It was in December 2025 that Tony D’Angelo made his return to WWE NXT at the Deadline Premium Live Event. He had been off television since July of that year.
D’Angelo is back in the fold of WWE programming, and he stopped by the No-Contest Wrestling podcast and opened up about his hiatus.
“No injury. It was just a bit of a reset. I will say I did have those personal things that came up unexpectedly, but, honestly, things happen the way they’re supposed to. So, it was good, I got a reset. I kind of got a different perspective on life and work and like I said in that time, my wife got pregnant. You get in this bubble and you’re just so–lift, work, eat, film. You’re just doing that for so long, you kind of forget why you got into this or, you know, there’s life outside of this… So sometimes you need a little reset and I’m pretty thankful that I got that opportunity and now, I’m what you see on TV so, I have a whole new perspective and outlook on what I need to do to achieve my goals and take care of my family.”
D’Angelo is heading to NXT Stand & Deliver on April 4th, where he’ll be in a Fatal 4-Way for the NXT Championship. D’Angelo will be in the bout with Ricky Saints, Ethan Page, and the champion Joe Hendry.
