Tony Khan Says Mercedes Martinez Was Medically Cleared On 11/16, Was Eager To Get Back Into The Ring

Tony Khan confirms that Mercedes Martinez is cleared to compete.

Mercedes Martinez is the current Ring of Honor Women's World Champion. She has been absent from programming since late July. Previously, Tony had noted that Mercedes was sidelined with an injury but never specified what the injury was.

Now, Tony has revealed on the media call prior to AEW Full Gear 2022, that Mercedes is cleared and she was eager to compete on AEW Dark: Elevation which was taped on Wednesday, November 16. Fans can see the spoiler results of her return match at this link.

Tony mentioned that Mercedes is eager to defend her title at Ring of Honor's next pay-per-view offering, ROH Final Battle 2022 on Saturday, December 10. Thus far, no matches have been named for the event.

Prior to her return, Martinez successfully defended the ROH Women's Championship against Serena Deeb at ROH Death Before Dishonor. She last wrestled at NEW Zero Fear on July 24.
