Tony Khan: We Won't Be A Secondary Promotion At AEW All In, We're Not Taking A Back Seat To Anyone

Tony Khan responds to Triple H.

In "American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes," Cody discussed his decision to leave AEW, saying it was a "personal issue" that he wouldn't detail. Speaking about Cody returning to WWE to become WWE Champion, Triple H said in the documentary, "To then take that gamble again and say, 'this is not what I wanted to be. I didn't grow up dreaming of being the champion or the face of a secondary promotion. I wanted to be the WWE champion.'"

Speaking to Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel, Tony Khan responded to Triple H calling AEW a "secondary promotion."

“We certainly won’t be the secondary promotion at All In,” he said. “We’re No. 1 in the UK, on TV and with a record gate. I have a lot of respect for Cody. I know these weren’t his words, to be fair, but we’re not secondary in a lot of markets — for the first time in a long time, WWE has been secondary in a lot of markets. … I’m proud of where we’re at and we’re not taking a back seat to anybody.”

AEW All In is set to take place on August 27 at Wembley Stadium. No matches have been announced for the show.

In July, Tony said "about 70,000" tickets have been sold for the event.
