Before re-signing with WWE, Owens had teased joining The Young Bucks & Adam Cole in AEW to reunite Mount Rushmore, which was their group in PWG.

Speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports, Tony Khan confirmed he would have had interest in Owens had he become a free agent.

"I would have been interested in that. He's a great wrestler," Khan said. "I think he ended up signing for what I believe is probably a lot of money. I think that's great and good for him. We have a lot of people spotlighted here and he's great. Any company he goes to he'll be a great wrestler for them."

Owens said it was an "easy decision" to re-sign with WWE. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

Owens is set to challenge for the WWE Championship at WWE Day 1 when he faces Big E, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley in a fatal four-way.
