Trick Williams Addresses Potential WWE Main Roster Singles Match Against Carmelo Hayes
The crowd wanted it.
A successful defense of the United States Championship is in the books for Trick Williams as he bested Sami Zayn at WWE Backlash to retain the belt.
Williams and rapper, songwriter, and producer Lil Yachty took to the Backlash post-show to celebrate. The crowd in attendance began to chant Carmelo Hayes’ name, and Williams asked if they wanted to see him versus Hayes, and they cheered.
Williams: “Y’all wanna see Trick versus Melo?” The crowd cheered. “The people (have) spoken. Let’s see what happens.”
Yachty: “Melo could get it too though.”
Williams: “I mean, look, look, look, look, look, we’ll see what happens. Me and Yachty, we’ll go talk about it and see what we come up with.”
Williams and Hayes have not had a singles match since they were in NXT. They last shared the ring in February during a Triple Threat match.
