Triple H Discusses How NXT Plans For The WWE Draft

The WWE Draft begins this Friday, October 9 on SmackDown and continues the following Monday on Raw.

Details regarding the draft are scarce and it remains to be seen if NXT will be included. WWE tweeted of NXT being involved on Sunday, but the tweet was deleted and re-posted without including NXT. It is also unknown how the draft will work as we've seen different variations over the years including brands making picks, matches determining picks, and a randomizer stopping.

On the post-NXT TakeOver 31 media call, Triple H addressed the upcoming draft and how NXT will deal with things.

"When I say 'not knowing what is happening at the draft,' my not knowing probably means, just going off of commercials, that [NXT] won't be (part of the draft). That can always change this week. A lot of talent have come up from the Performance Center and NXT to Raw and to SmackDown over the last 12 months, I want to say the numbers are in the high teens. There has been a lot of movement and activity. I'm always for what is best for talent. When the conversations are had, we try to have as much advance notice for when talent is coming in or going out. We can plan for it appropriately on the exit and entrance for all sides. Sometimes that can't happen and it's short notice, but for the most part we have a fair amount of advanced notice. There is some talent that is part of those rosters that are still waiting to debut. There's an opportunity there and it goes across all three brands. No matter how it goes, we'll be ready to make it work," he said.

It is still unknown if NXT will be part of the draft or what the format will be.
