Triple H was having a good time on commentary during WWE SmackDown in front of no live audience.
Triple H welcomed fans watching at home to the Performance Center and then joined Michael Cole on commentary. During the opening match between Sasha Banks & Bayley against Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss, Triple H did his best Vince McMahon impression, referenced Mauro Ranallo's pop culture mentions, dropped a "Vintage" and "Whattamanauver," and joked about Asuka "running through the crowd."
It looked like Triple H was done for the night, leaving the commentary table and saying goodbye to Cole. But he was back later in the night, mentioning how busy he is. Triple H said, "I'm the only person who can get demoted and get busier."
The line was in reference to his new corporate title, which has him listed as Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development. He was previously listed as Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative.
The change in title was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer as being "a quiet demotion."
