Two Money In The Bank Qualifying Matches Announced For 7/9 WWE SmackDown

Seth Rollins' path to the Universal Championship begins with a match versus Cesaro.

On Friday, June 25, Seth Rollins approached Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce and told them that he wants to be Roman Reigns' next challenger. The WWE Officials seemed to agree and told Seth that they would take his request under advisement. Later that night, however, Edge returned and was granted the one-on-one match with Roman that he never got at WrestleMania 37.

Tonight, Rollins visited Deville and Pearce and complained about being overlooked. Instead, they offered Seth a match versus Cesaro on the July 9 episode of SmackDown for the opportunity to qualify for Money in the Bank. Rollins, coming off of a victory against Cesaro at Hell in a Cell, was happy to accept.

Furthermore, Baron Corbin will face Shinsuke Nakamura for the final spot in the Money in the Bank match. Corbin has been feeling low ever since losing his crown to Shinsuke, even revealing that he has lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. On July 2nd, Corbin and Apollo Crews lost their tag team match to Big E and Shinsuke after he was hit with the Big Ending. The loss was due to Corbin being distracted by his vehicle being towed away, seemingly for repossession.

The winners of the two aforementioned matches will join Kevin Owens, Riddle, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, John Morrison, and Big E in the MITB Ladder Match.
