Two New WWE Signings: MMA Fighter, Collegiate Wrestler

WWE's Performance Center will have several new faces showing up soon. 

Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens reported that the WWE has signed two new talents, Max Wessell and Alvin Abitz.

Abitz is an amateur MMA fighter, who went 1-1, but last competed in 2013. Abitz has an impressive 21 second knockout on his record from longtime promotion King of The Cage. The 23-year old stands 6'7" had a tryout in May of this year, and according to SCS, will report to the Performance Center next month. 

Max Wessell is fresh off of the LeHigh Mountain Hawks NCAA wrestling team, where he competed as a heavyweight. SCS says the 285 pound, 24 year old is also showing up at the Performance Center in October.

Wessell was scouted by Gerald Brisco, and also has a background in Judo. He actually deferred his eligibility in 2011-12 so he could attempt to qualify for the United States Olympic Judo team. While at Lehigh, Wessell had his fair share of injuries on his way to a 52-21 overall record, placing 8th in his division at the NCAA Championships.
