Tyson Fury Believes Upcoming WWE Match Won't Jeopardize Potential Deontay Wilder Rematch

Though nothing is set in stone in regards to the potential Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury rematch being planned for early 2020, Fury's upcoming WWE match against Braun Strowman shouldn't hinder that rematch.

After his match against Braun Strowman, set for WWE Crown Jewel on October 31, was announced, Fury spoke with DAZN News and talked about what his WWE debut means for his boxing future. Although certain members of Fury's team aren't fully on board with the idea, Fury said he is simply living for the moment. Fury has not fought in the boxing ring since he battled a nasty cut suffered at the hands of Otto Wallin back in September.

Though Fury will have to wait until late November to figure out if he will have a rematch against Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title. Wilder is currently scheduled to face Luis Ortiz on November 23 in the main event of a PBC on FOX card from Las Vegas.

?Apparently my promoter, my trainer, my manager, my family and everybody at home has been saying ?Don?t take this fight because that guy is going to rip that cut open!? But I?m quite quick and it?s really up to me to not allow him to rip that cut open. It?s worrying moments for the Wilder rematch, but I?m living in the moment,? Fury said.

The feud between Fury and Strowman picked up steam during a confrontation between the two on SmackDown's debut episode on FOX in early October. Despite Fury's involvement with WWE has been very brief, both parties had been working on this for several months.

"This deal came together just recently. My people have been working behind the scene on it for the past few months but my involvement came over the past couple of weeks. I always wanted to get involved with WWE for a number of years but because of my boxing career, I wasn?t able to. The opportunity arose recently, and I took a hold of it with both hands," Fury said.

Fury vs. Strowman will take place at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 31. Fightful will have live coverage of the event.
