The Undertaker: I Wanted A Traditional Belt As WWE Champion, Unless It Was The Spinner Belt, That Was Awful

Over the years, WWE has released custom WWE Championships for fans to purchase that honor champions of the past.

WWE has put out custom championships highlighting the title runs of Randy Savage, Bret Hart, The Usos, Mick Foley, The Undertaker and more. On television, a handful of wrestlers have custom championships including Steve Austin's Smoking Skull and John Cena's spinner belt, which became the traditional title.

Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker was asked if he would have wanted a custom title during his run.

"No. I'm a traditionalist. I'm old school. Whatever the world title is, that's what I wanted to represent. As cool as [the custom belt] is, it's one of the nicest looking belts I've seen, I would have wanted one of the traditional belts, unless it was the spinner belt, which was awful. If I had my choice, the spinner belt or [custom belt], I would have gone with the [custom belt]. I always like the traditional championships. Back then, it was more about being the champion than marketing. I'm not opposed to making money. I just think there are certain traditions and things that should be untouched. The championship should be the championship," he said.

The Undertaker was a four-time WWE Champion and three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Undertaker reflected on CM Punk believing he could tap out Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
