We finally have an undisputed United States Champion.
Apollo Crews finally returned to WWE television on Raw and he has the new United States title in his hand after defeating MVP.
On July 6, MVP introduced the newly designed United States Championship and declared himself as the champion after Apollo Crews had been absent from television. Crews and MVP were scheduled to compete at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, but Crews still wasn't medically clear due to a bulging disc according to WWE. As a result, MVP declared himself as the "real" United States Champion.
Crews was able to score the victory on MVP, putting him away with the toss powerbomb.
The match was "hampered" by some in-arena difficulties as the lights were flickering throughout the match. WWE explained that there is a storm in the area, which caused the power to flicker.
After the bout, MVP challenged Crews to a rematch at SummerSlam. Later in the night, it was reported by Charly Caruso that Crews had accepted MVP's challenge for SummerSlam.
