Usos Haven't Re-Signed, WWE Hopeful To Get A Deal Done; Contracts Reportedly Expire In April

Another act in wrestling may end up benefiting from the changing wrestling landscape sooner than later.

As revealed on Fightful Select, as well as our Smackdown Live Post-Show Podcast sources backstage within WWE tell Fightful that The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) have not re-signed with the company as of yet, and there is fear internally that they may be riding out their contracts. With several wrestlers leaving and asking for their releases over the past couple of months, WWE is hoping to get ahead and has been prioritizing re-signing talent. We haven't been told if the Usos are among those. Phrasing on this is important, as we've not been told there's any intent to leave, just that they haven't re-signed and WWE hopes they will.

The Usos are slated to face The Miz & Shane McMahon at WWE Elimination Chamber for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. They're well liked by almost everyone we've spoken to backstage, and are often applauded for their in-ring work, promos, and willingness to reinvent themselves.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that The Usos contracts are set to expire in April.

Fightful keeps an ongoing list of confirmed contract expiration dates in our resources section, and we cover it weekly on the Fightful Select Fightful Report Podcast.
