The Usos On Representing The Bloodline At WWE Day 1 Without Roman Reigns, Cementing Their Own Legacy

The Usos on representing The Bloodline in the absence of Roman Reigns at WWE Day 1.

The Usos started 2022 with a match against their great rivals, The New Day. The SmackDown Tag Team Championship match opened the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view in Atlanta, Georgia.

Earlier in the night, it had been announced that Jimmy and Jey’s cousin, Roman Reigns, would not be in attendance at the event because he tested positive for COVID-19, this meant that Jimmy and Jey had to represent The Bloodline by themselves tonight and they delivered a match that was instantaneously critically acclaimed, even adding a new move to their repertoire when they utilized the 3D as their finishing move.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Jimmy and Jey said they were glad to represent the family and they both feel Roman Reigns will be back sooner than later as he was home resting or perhaps playing some Call of Duty.

“It felt off not having the Tribal Chief around,” said Jey Uso. “This match was for him. We represented, and he’s going to be OK. He’s home resting, and maybe playing some Call of Duty. We’re going to see him back soon.”

“We opened the show, and we’re so used to seeing The Big Uce close the show,” added Jimmy Uso. “This pandemic is crazy, and all we want is for him to be safe and take care of himself.”

Speaking more of their legacy, they would say that they live for tag team wrestling having come from a family that defined generations of tag team wrestling in WWE. It was a sell-out in the family living room and for Jimmy and Jey, that means just as much as any on-screen accolade.

“We had big shoes to fill,” continued Jimmy Uso. “For a long time, that was intimidating. It took years to get to this point, but people are seeing who we really are. We have our own footprint in the sand and we’re so proud to represent the family.”

“It was a sold-out show at home in the living room,” said Jey Uso. “We’re making the family proud with what we’re doing. It is very humbling to carry the torch for our family. And our goal is to be the number-one tag team to ever do this. No one can do it like us. Every other tag team can run up and get down up. We’re going to do it until the day we die.”
