Vampiro Says He Becomes "Like A Vegetable" If He Flies Too Much

Scary situation for Vampiro.

The 51-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in a wheelchair as he makes his way back to Mexico City from this weekend's WrestleCade event in North Carolina. Vampiro competed in a casket match against Crazzy Steve on Saturday night. In the caption, Vampiro wrote, "Part of my condition, from this neck and back injury is that if I fly too often my body totally gives out and I lose all control of my legs and arms and hands . Basically I become like a vegetable . I literally can not walk. And so today I am in a wheelchair."

Vampiro has been wrestling since 1984 when he was just 16 years old. He became a star in CMLL in the '90s before making his way to WCW in 1998. He currently serves as the color commentator for Lucha Underground and Director of Talent for AAA. He announced his retirement from the ring this past April due to his various injuries. WrestleCade marked his first match, post-retirement.
