Vince McMahon's Return To SmackDown On 9/12 Gives Show Best Viewership In Five Months

Tuesday's episode of SmackDown Live, featuring the return of WWE CEO and Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon's return to SmackDown for the first time in four years, drew 2.754 million viewers, according to Show Buzz Daily. This is up from last week's 2.582 million viewers and is the best number since the conclusion of the "Superstar Shake-Up" on April 11. SmackDown also featured three championship matches, including The New Day taking back the Tag Titles from the Usos in a "Sin City Streetfight."

SmackDown was #2 in total viewership on cable for the night, trailing only Tucker Carlson on Fox News. SmackDown also took the #2 spot in the highly coveted 18-49 demographic, behind American Horror Story on FX.

For reference, the previous night's episode of RAW drew 2.903 million viewers, which is about 5.4% better than SmackDown's number.
