Werner Herzog Didn’t Want To Know Hulk Hogan’s Real Name

Werner Herzog is one of the greatest filmmakers in history, and he just so happens to be a wrestling fan.

Herzog appears in the new documentary “Real American,” which tells the story of Hulk Hogan. In the documentary, Herzog discusses the performative nature of humans and the separation of performance and real.

“In the case of Hulk Hogan, it would be interesting to look into the performer and into the real Hulk Hogan, if he still exists.”

Werner is then asked if he knows Hogan’s real name.

“I don’t even want to know his real name,” he replied. “Keep it your secret.”

We won’t spoil it for Werner.

All four episodes of “Real American are now streaming on Netflix.

During the documentary, Triple H revealed that he was the person who called Hogan to cut ties with him after tapes leaked of him using racist language. Triple H was able to separate the performer from the real person. You can learn more here.
