Wes Lee's broken hand is not a storyline.
On the February 24 episode of NXT, MSK were attacked backstage by Grizzled Young Veterans. During the attack, GYV placed a chair over the hand of Wes Lee and stomped down. Later in the night, GYV stated they broke the hand of Wes Lee and were fined for their actions.
On the subsequent NXT injury report, which can be a mix of reality and kayfabe, Lee was listed out with a broken hand and not medically cleared.
Taking to his Instagram page, Lee confirmed his broken hand is legitimate by showing off the x-ray.
Lee last wrestled at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day when he and his MSK partner Nash Carter defeated the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) to win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. As a result of their victory, they earned a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships.
It is unknown when the NXT Tag Team Title bout will take place as there is no timetable for Lee's return.
