SmackDown 1000 now has another number of significance attached to it. That number is 619, because Rey Mysterio is back!

The SmackDown legend will appear on the history-making episode, marking his return to the blue brand for the first time in more than four years.

The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion is best remembered for energizing SmackDown with his signature aerial attack, unbelievable athleticism and never-say-die attitude. Mysterio was a cornerstone of Team Blue since the first brand split in March 2002 and helped define the SmackDown spirit.

As previously reported, Mysterio signed a two-year deal with the company in September. He appeared in the Royal Rumble and Greatest Royal Rumble earlier this year, but has not been full-time with the company since 2015.

It is unknown what Mysterio's role will be on the show, but WWE social media did tease a dream match between him and AJ Styles not too long ago. Along with Mysterio's return, Batista will return to the company at SmackDown 1000 to reunite with Evolution. WWE is also reportedly attempting to get The Rock to appear in some capacity.

Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown 1000 on Oct. 16.
