WWE Championship Match Made Official For 'Backlash'

The sequel continues.

Tonight at the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event AJ Styles put his WWE Championship on the line once again against his former friend turned bitter enemy Shinsuke Nakamura. For weeks on end since their matchup at WrestleMania 34 Nakamura has delivered a number of fatal "low-blows" to "The Phenomenal One".

Those sentiments noted above were no different on this occasion as "The King Of Strong Style" held nothing back in his quest to become WWE Champion. The pure competitive nature and hatred for one another boiled over today in Jeddah as both Shinsuke and AJ were on the outside trading blows and in the heat of the moment both men were counted out. With the champions advantage AJ Styles retained his title but was not finished laying the beat down onto his rival.

Shortly after the bout it was announced that at WWE's co-branded 'Backlash' PPV on May 6th in New Jersey, the feud will continue as AJ Styles will defend the WWE Championship for a third time against Shinsuke Nakamura.
