WWE Files Trademark On 'Intercontinental Championship'

WWE has filed a new trademark on "Intercontinental Championship." The trademark was filed on July 10. 

The description for the trademark is for merchandising purposes.

WWE introduced the Intercontinental Championship in 1979 with Pat Patterson serving as the first IC champion. AJ Styles is the current Intercontinental Champion.

NJPW has it's own Intercontinental Championship with EVIL holding the belt
