WWE Looked Into Possibility Of NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson Getting Involved With Danhausen At Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE was looking to bring things full circle with Danhausen and Jalen Brunson.
The next installment of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is scheduled for July 18th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select learned that there were several pitches made within WWE to feature Danhausen and 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson on-screen together.
“WWE previously had looked into the possibility of having Jalen Brunson get involved with Danhausen at Saturday Night’s Main Event at MSG, @WrestleVotes Radio on @FightfulSelect
reports. Those plans were shelved due to Brunson’s left wrist surgery, ruling out any physical involvement.
The company is still hopeful that Brunson will be attending the show and make an on-screen appearance.”

Danhausen ‘uncursed’ the New York Knicks, and the team, led by Brunson, went on a winning streak in the NBA Playoffs and ultimately won the championship. Knicks-inspired Danhausen merchandise has been pushed out, and Danhausen was on ESPN multiple times during the Knicks’ championship run.
Brunson has stepped into the ring for WWE in the past. He was involved in a segment with fellow NBA star Tyrese Haliburton, L.A. Knight, and Logan Paul.
