This is the Fightful.com live coverage for WWE NXT TakeOver: New Orleans! Tomorrow night is WrestleMania, but the stars of NXT look to continue their streak of arguably the best matches of the weekend when Andrade Almas defends his NXT Championship against Aleister Black, history will be made as we crown the first ever WWE North American champion when six men go head to head in a ladder match, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa look to end their heated rivalry in an unsanctioned match and if that weren't enough Undisputed Era defends their NXT Tag Team Championship and Shayna Baszler looks to become the new NXT Women's champion and much more so be sure to come back here at 8PM EST for all of the action exclusively on the WWE Network!
WWE NXT North American Championship Ladder Match
Everyone brawls to start the match before ganging up on EC3, then Ricochet hits a springboard shooting star press that takes everyone out at ringside. Ricochet hits a huricanrrana before Adam hits an ushigaroshi to Dream before EC3 hits flat liner to Adam and sends Lars off of the apron. Lars comes in and kills everyone before Dain comes in and sends him out of the ring before hitting a tope to the outside. Adam and Ricochet exchange forearms until everyone gets in the ring and get killed by a ladder thrown by Lars. Lars attacks everyone with the ladder before dropping Dream across one of the ladders, then everyone besides Adam powerbombs Lars and Adam goes to get the belt bes brought down by Dain who nearly knocks him out.
Dain sends Ricochet into a ladder in the corner before EC3 and Adam attack Lars and form a momentary alliance before Adam starts a superkick party. Dream hits the Purple Rainmaker elbow drop to Ricochet before hitting one to Lars as well. EC3 takes everyone out before climbing the ladder before he starts fighting with Adam on the ladder. EC3 hits a TK3 off of the top and goes to climb the ladder once more before Dain yanks him off and drops him with a bicycle kick. Dain hits a Vader bomb to EC3 who has a ladder on top of him with Adam on his back before Lars and Dain take turns tossing Ricochet around and out of the ring.
Dain and Lars exchange forearms until Lars slams Dain and sends him out of the ring, then Ricochet hits a moonsault to the outside before finishing with a shooting star press onto EC3 onto a ladder. Dream and Ricochet fight on top of a ladder wedged between the turnbuckle and another ladder before Dream hits a DVD onto the ladder. Lars hits a uranage with EC3 onto Dream through a ladder at ringside before Dain puts Adam and Ricochet through another ladder. Dain and Lars fight on the ladder in the center of the ring before EC3 and Adam set one up beside them just as Dream sets up a third. Everyone brawls on the ladders until it's just Lars and Dain, then Lars hits a uranage off of the ladder before Ricochet takes Lars out and Adam takes Ricochet out before climbing the ladder and grabbing the belt to become the first ever WWE North American champion.
Winner: Adam Cole defeats Lars Sullivan, Velveteen Dream, EC3, Killian Dain & Ricochet to become the new WWE NXT North American champion.
WWE NXT Women's Championship Match
Ember Moon (c) vs Shayna Baszler
They brawl to start the match before they get out of the ring and Ember sends Shayna into the steps before quickly rolling her back into the ring and hitting an avalanche codebreaker for a quick two count. Shayna catches a PK from Moon on the apron before sending her into the barricade and rolling her back into the ring for a quick two count. Shayna hits a running knee in the corner into a gut wrench suplex for a quick two count before Ember comes back with a front flipping forearm in the corner. Shayna drops Moon with a knee for a near fall before Moon hits a single leg dropkick for a quick two count, then hits a double under hook suplex into a facebuster for a quick two count. Shayna dodges a springboard cross body before Ember sweeps her feet out and steps on her arm like Shayna had did to her.
Shayna catches Ember on the top turnbuckle before seemingly popping her shoulder back into it's socket, then Ember hits the Eclipse off of the top and to the floor before they both get back in the ring at the count of nine. Ember counters a rear naked choke before Shayna locks in triangle choke, Ember countering into a powerbomb for a near fall before Shayna counters the Eclipse into a rear naked choke. Ember then passes out and the referee is forced to call for the bell.
Winner: Shayna Baszler defeats Ember Moon via submission with a rear naked choke to become the new WWE NXT Women's champion.
WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match
Undisputed Era (c) vs Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne vs Authors of Pain
They brawl to start the match before AOP clear the ring and hit Kyle with a powerbomb for a very early near fall. AOP put Adam through an announce table before Pete goes for a Kimura that Kyle counters and drops Pete with a series of kicks. Kyle locks in a guillotine, then a triangle before applying a kneebar to Rezar, Akam breaking it up by powerbombing Pete onto the pile. AOP take out Kyle before they start teaming up against Strong, then Pete finally tags in and drops Akam before he and Kyle counter each other repeatedly. Rezar hits a spinning uranage for a near fall before Pete and Kyle exchange strikes until Akam comes in and hits a double lariat.
AOP hit the Super Collider to Pete and Kyle before hitting the Last Chapter to Pete for a very close near fall that Strong breaks up. Strong hits an Olympic slam for a quick two count before tagging Pete back in, Strong back dropping Kyle onto the apron before Pete hits a diving double foot stomp. Pete and Strong hit a series of double team moves to Rezar for a near fall that Akam breaks up before Pete hits the Bitter End to Kyle for a near fall that Strong breaks up. Strong then hits the End of Heartache to Pete before putting Kyle on him and allowing Undisputed Era to retain their championship.
Winner: Undisputed Era defends their NXT Tag Team Championship against Authors of Pain and Pete Dunne & Roderick Strong when Strong turns on Pete and helps Kyle pin Pete after hitting him with the End of Heartache.
WWE NXT Championship Match
Andrade Almas (c) vs Aleister Black
They brawl to start the match before Black drops and sends Almas out of the ring with a flurry of strikes, then Aleister hits a moonsault off of the top and to the floor before Zelina gets in his way and Almas capitalizes. Zelina hits a huricanrrana off of the apron and sends Black into the ring steps before Almas rolls him back into the ring for a near fall. Almas beats on and stomps Aleister in the corner before Almas locks in an armbar in the ropes until the count of four. Almas starts focusing on the arm of Aleister until Black catches him in midair with a jumping knee, then Black drops Almas with a series of kicks before hitting a running forearm in the corner and an Asai moonsault for a quick two count. Almas catches Black up top before Almas misses the running knees in the corner only for Almas to hit a snap German suplex into a standing moonsault for a near fall.
They exchange forearms and kicks until Almas drops Black with a back fist for a quick two count, Black coming back with a jumping knee for one of his own. They drop each other with a roundhouse kick at the same time before Almas hits an arm drag that sends Black into the corner. Almas sends back over the top rope and onto the floor before hitting a corkscrew moonsault and rolling him back into the ring for a near fall. Zelina distracts the referee before hitting a spike huricanrrana to Black when the referee gets rid of the belt she hands to Almas for a near fall. Almas then hits the Black Mass for a near fall, Zelina putting Almas' foot on the bottom rope before Almas hits a diving double foot stomp and running knees in the corner for a very close near fall.
They counter each other until Almas hits running knees on the apron into the ring post before Black counters a draping hammerlock DDT and sends Almas out of the ring before hitting a flipping senton over the top rope and onto the floor. Almas then immediately hits the hammerlock DDT for a very close near fall once they're back in the ring before Almas catches Zelina coming off of the top when she goes to dive onto Almas; Black hitting the Black Mass while Almas is holding her for the pin and the win.
Winner: Aleister Black defeats Andrade Almas via pinfall with the Black Mass to become the new WWE NXT champion.
Unsanctioned Match
Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa
They brawl to start the match before Johnny drops Ciamapa repeatedly and hits a slingshot spear through the ropes. Johnny stomps on Ciampa in the corner before whipping him into the corner and hitting a tope to the outside when Ciampa gets out of the ring to catch his breath. Johnny whips Ciampa over the barricade and into the crowd before Ciampa sends Johnny into the barricade and drops him onto it. Ciampa hits a backbreaker at ringside before pulling up the padding at ringside, then Johnny hits a superkick before tossing Ciampa over the announce table. Ciampa suplexes Johnny off of the announce table and to the floor before beating on him at ringside and back drops him across the top of the announce table.
They get back in the ring and keeps Johnny grounded all the while playing to the crowd and mocking him before whipping him into the corner. They exchange strikes until Ciampa hits a side slam for a one count before Ciampa puts Gargano in a submission that he gets out of by crawling out of the ring. Ciampa hits a running knee before they get back in the ring and Johnny repeatedly counters Ciampa trying to hit him with his crutch. Johnny grabs the crutch and hits Ciampa, sending him out of the ring and onto the apron before they counter each other until Johnny powerbombs Ciampa off of the apron and onto the concrete floor. They get back in the ring and crawl towards the crutch before Johnny attacks Ciampa with the crutch while playing to the crowd.
Ciampa sends Johnny over the top rope and onto the floor before Johnny hits him again and hits a slingshot DDT for a near fall. Johnny exposes a turnbuckle before Ciampa sends him into it and Johnny goes for a slingshot spear through the ropes, but Ciampa hits him with a knee before hitting a blue thunder bomb for a near fall. Ciampa hits a running knee to the back of the head of Johnny for a very close near fall before Johnny comes back with a series of lariats and slaps. Johnny locks in the Gargano Escape and Ciampa breaks free by raking the eyes of Johnny before they exchange right hands until Ciampa hits a low blow. Ciampa grabs the crutch and hits Gargano with it before they exchange strikes until Johnny launches him into the corner for a very close near fall.
Ciampa hits an avalanche Lumbar Check for a very close near fall before exposing his exposed knee and going for a knee to Johnny, but Johnny hits him with his brace before grabbing the crutch and breaking it. Johnny then goes to hit Ciampa with the crutch, but stops before locking in the Gargano Escape with the brace for the tap and the win.
Winner: Johnny Gargano defeats Tommaso Ciampa and regains employment in NXT.
