It is once again time for The Road to WrestleMania to begin and The Road to WrestleMania officially starts at the Royal Rumble event. During WWE TLC 2020, it was announced that the 2021 Royal Rumble event will go down on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

This year's Royal Rumble saw the return of Edge after he was out of action for nine years due to injury. This year's Royal Rumble was also the only Big 4 WWE event that took place in front of a live crowd due to the global coronavirus pandemic that began shutting down events in March.

Recently, in the wake of the lowest ratings in Monday Night Raw history, it was reported that WWE is hopeful that the Royal Rumble event can act as a restart playing for the company.
