WWE is selling a replica Championship belt to commemorate the legendary rivalry between Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant.
Andre The Giant vs. Hulk Hogan is seen as one of the most important rivalries in WWE history, culminating in a major match in the Pontiac Silverdome in 1987 at WWE WrestleMania 3, Hogan vs. Andre helped set an indoor attendance record that night and launched the WWE into new heights.
In the build to that 1987 main event, a special WWE Championship belt was created specifically to fit Andre The Giant. Although it was never needed, WWE is now celebrating the legacy of Andre The Giant by releasing a replica championship on WWEShop.
The design is based on the "Hulk Hogan '87" version of the WWE Championship with proportions to fit the massive frame of the 8th Wonder of the World
