SmackDown is once again slated to air on FS1 and there is an update regarding the live status of the New Year's Day episode of SmackDown
Next week, WWE SmackDown will air live on FS1 as opposed to its typical home on the FOX Network. This is due to NCAA football airing on the network next week. Smackdown has aired on FS1 twice and both times have done less than a million viewers. SmackDown drew 888,000 viewers on October 25, 2019. On October 23, 2020, WWE SmackDown only drew 881,000 viewers.
In other SmackDown news, following a report the WWE SmackDown will not be live on Christmas day, a new report from POST Wrestling notes that the show will in fact be live on New Year's Day in 2021. This will not be the first time WWE goes live on New Year's Day as they chose to go that route in 2018 and 2019 as well.
