WWE SmackDown Results (5/22): Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Rhea Ripley To Appear

WWE aired the latest episode of WWE SmackDown on May 22 from the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The event aired on USA Network.

• Rhea Ripley opens the show. She accepts Jade Cargill’s challenge for Clash in Italy. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss interrupt. Charlotte wondered where Rhea was last week. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid, & Fallon Henley) interrupts. Charlotte challenges any two of Fatal Influence to face her and Alexa.
• Backstage, Alexa says Rhea will be teaming with Charlotte, not her.
• Talla Tonga def. Shinsuke Nakamura
• Solo Sikoa and Talla look to inflict further damage. Tama Tonga cuts them off, but then joins in. Damian Priest makes the save.
• Cody Rhodes speaks with Nick Aldis, wondering where Gunther is. Sami Zayn comes in and offers to help Cody, who turns down the offer.
• MFTs speak backstage. Tama says everyone is coming after them because they are weak, and that Solo needs to face Priest.
• Lash Legend answers the open challenge of Tiffany Stratton.
• WWE Women’s United States Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) def. Lash Legend. Chelsea helped Tiffany.
• Nick Aldis finds Danhausen doing experiments, which has caused the power to flicker throughout the show.
• The Miz, with Kit Wilson, is upset the Cleveland Cavaliers are cursed. Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) appear, setting up a tag match for next Friday.
• Carmelo Hayes interrupts Trick Williams and Lil Yachty. Hayes challenged Trick to put the United States Title on the line. Yachty says that Trick has a busy schedule, and Hayes says that Trick is used to playing second fiddle. Trick accepts the challenge.
• WWE United States Championship: Trick Williams (c) def. Carmelo Hayes. Ricky Saints distracted Carmelo during the match.
• Ricky Saints is jumped by Carmelo Hayes as he’s talking to Cathy Kelley.
• Charlotte Flair & Rhea Ripley def. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)
• Jade Cargill, Michin, & B-Fab attack Charlotte and Rhea after the match.
• Solo Sikoa def. Damian Priest
• MFTs attack after the match. Royce Keys makes the save.
• Chelsea Green meets Blake Monroe backstage. Nia Jax attacks Chelsea.
• Cody Rhodes def. Sami Zayn. Gunther interfered and attacked Cody but the ref didn’t see it.
• Gunther lays out Cody after the match. Sami steps in, but doesn’t prevent Gunther from his attack before walking away.
