wXw 16 Carat Gold Revenge Set For 4/2 In Tampa Canceled Due To Coronavirus-Based Travel Bans

The recent tradition of many independent promotions from across the globe gathering in the host city of WWE WrestleMania has created a new avenue for fans and performers alike to share their passion with like-minded people from around the world. However, due to the escalation of concern and fear of the potential spread of Coronavirus and new travel bans associated with the virus, at least one show being presented by an international promotion will no longer take place during WrestleMania 36 week in Tampa, Florida.

wXw was set to present their 16 Carat Gold Revenge show during the WWN-linked WrestlExpo convention taking place during WrestleMania 36 week. However, a new 30-day travel ban from Europe to the United States place by President Donald Trump is going to prevent that from taking place as wXw is a promotion that is based in Germany. Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Lio Rush, was set to appear at this event prior to its cancellation.

wXw officially announced the cancellation via their Twitter account on March, 12, 2020, saying that any fans who want a refund should contact the eTix organization.

As of this time, WrestleMania itself has not been canceled or postponed, with the city of Tampa stating that they will wait an additional week before making a decision regarding the event. Learn more about that at this link.
