Sasha Banks has been a welcoming presence for Xia Li since being drafted to WWE's main roster.
After nearly three years in NXT, Xia Li is set to make her Friday Night SmackDown debut on December 10, 2021. Vignettes have told Xia's story in comic book form, teaching the audience about her history and how she came to be "The Protector."
In a new interview with Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda, Xia Li shared that Sasha Banks has been very friendly and even invited her over for a holiday party at her house.
"She's been very friendly with me. Even at the very beginning. I don't speak English very well and she still invited me to her house for a holiday party to celebrate together," Xia Li said. "She's already a top superstar. She's not in my class. So that's why I'm very grateful she can do this for me. She's the best."
She concluded by calling The Boss her idol in wrestling.
"What she does on TV is amazing. She's my idol in wrestling, and I want to be like her," Xia said.
Xia's last televised match was on July 20th, when she challenged Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women's Championship. Ever since then, she has been working dark matches ahead of SmackDown, though her last one came all the way back on October 15th.
