The Young Bucks Become AAA World Tag Team Champions By Beating Lucha Bros At Rey de Reyes

The Young Bucks have one-upped the Lucha Brothers once again.

Lucha Libre AAA's annual installment of Rey de Reyes commenced and concluded on March 16th from Puebla, Mexico. The show was streamed live on Twitch TV and the main event of the night saw Pentagon Jr. and Fenix defeat Texano Jr. and Rey Escorpion for the AAA World Tag Team Championships. As the Lucha Brothers were celebrating their victory in the ring, they were approached by Konnan and shortly after, the lights in the arena went out and when the lights cut back on, The Young Bucks were standing in the ring across from their 'Double Or Nothing' opponents.

The Young Bucks versus Pentagon Jr. and Fenix for the AAA World Tag Team Championships was made official on the spot. After a back and forth bout between the two teams, it was Matt and Nick Jackson setting up and executing the "Meltzer Driver" on Pentagon Jr. to capture the AAA Tag Team Titles.

The Young Bucks cost Pentagon Jr. and Fenix the AAW Tag Team Titles last month at AAW's 'The Art Of War' show and just a few weeks later, Matt and Nick have taken yet another pair of Tag Team Titles out of The Lucha Brothers' clutches. The Young Bucks versus The Lucha Brothers is set for AEW's 'Double Or Nothing' show on May 25th.

AEW Co-Executive Vice President Cody was present at Rey de Reyes and he spoke about the partnership between AAA and AEW and shared that he hopes to bring the likes of Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega to Mexico under the All Elite Wrestling banner.
