Yuya Uemura wins first title in NJPW.
Yuya Uemura won the King of Pro Wrestling Champion at the April 27th NJPW Road to Wrestling Dontaku event, defeating Great-O-Khan in a Rural Revitalization match.
Uemura won the first round, which was a tire carrying contest. The two men were able to wrestle in the middle of the contest, and Uemura prevented O-Khan from finishing his four tire stack with a schoolboy.
O-Khan easily won the second round, which was a lemon eating contest, eating the entire lemon and the peel.
Uemura won the third round tables match, putting O-Khan through the table with Deadbolt.
This marks the first reigning at KOPW Champion for Uemura. O-Khan's reign lasted 98 days. He made one successful title defense.
