Zack Gibson On Grizzled Young Veterans Potentially Returning To AEW: Fingers Crossed

Zack Gibson comments on potentially returning to AEW.

Former NXT UK Tag Team Champions Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) left WWE when their contracts expired in September 2023. Since then, they have been active on the independent scene, and they have wrestled for TNA. The duo made their AEW debut on the April 27 episode of AEW Collision, but they have yet to return to the company.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Zack Gibson discussed the duo's decision to leave WWE. He noted that they never burned any bridges, and they could potentially "reopen those talks" if they wanted to.

"We never burned any bridges, we can always reopen those talks if we wanted to. Similarly, if we’re enjoying ourselves more elsewhere, then we may never need to go back. We’re not set on any one particular path. We just wanted to get our stock moving in the right direction again. Since leaving WWE, we made the right decision," Gibson said.

Gibson was also asked about whether they would like to return to AEW. He noted that they had their "fingers crossed".

"I’m not allowed to give too much away. But all I would say is just watch this space, because we got some we got some really cool stuff lined up," Gibson said.
