Zelina Vega (Thea Trinidad) To Be Featured In Street Fighter 6 As In-Game Commentator

Zelina Vega is the latest in-game commentator added to the upcoming Street Fighter 6 video game.

WWE made the announcement about Vega's involvement in Street Fighter 6 during her entrance at the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble event.

Vega was dressed up as Juri Han from the popular fighting game series and managed to eliminate Xia Li from the Royal Rumble match.

Capcom later issued an official statement about Vega's involvement, including a statement from the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.

From Capcom:

Thea Trinidad, also known as WWE Superstar Zelina Vega, has climbed to the top rope and somersaulted directly into Street Fighter 6 as the newest addition to the in-game commentator roster. Thea, a longtime Street Fighter fan, brings her strength, style, and electrifying personality to the growing roster of illustrious color commentators in Street Fighter 6. She is a current WWE Superstar, self-proclaimed gamer, and no stranger to the Street Fighter franchise, even modeling her ring gear as Juri at this weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble in San Antonio, Texas.

“I’ve been an avid gamer since I was a child and a huge fan of Street Fighter,” said Thea Trinidad. “I can still remember epic matches with my brother, and I would always beat him with my favorite character Vega. It’s surreal to now be a part of this amazing franchise and I am honored and thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.”
The Street Fighter 6 Real-Time Commentary feature incorporates the voices of popular Fighting Game Community (FGC) commentators and personalities to narrate matches as they happen with easy-to-understand gameplay explanations. Recently announced play-by-play commentators include Jeremy “Vicious” Lopez, Ryutaro “Aru” Noda, Kosuke Hiraiwa, and Steve “TastySteve” Scott, with a tag team of color commentators including Thea Trinidad, H.E. Demon Kakka, and James “jchensor” Chen. This feature will support subtitles in 13 languages for increased accessibility and player excitement.

Street Fighter 6 represents the next evolution of the Street Fighter series with a combo of unique fighting game innovations across three brand new game modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub – and will be ready to take on all contenders when it launches worldwide on June 2, 2023 across PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series XS, and PC via Steam.
