In case you are the kind of person who does this, you can bet on whether John Cena will propose to his longtime girlfriend Nikki Bella at WrestleMania.
But if you really want to win some money, you should bet against it.
Bet Wrestling reports that UK betting site Paddy Power has the odds at 2/9 in favor of Cena proposing, which means they think it's way more likely to happen than not. In fact, if you do the math, the odds say that there's an 82% chance John Cena gets down on one knee, pulls a diamond ring out of his jorts and asks Nikki Bella to spend the rest of her life with him, never giving up, and also hustling, being loyal, and respecting things.
The 2/9 odds mean that you'd have to bet $9 to win $2 back on your investment. Which means to win a hundred bucks, you'd have to wager 450 bones. Not great odds in my opinion.
However, the odds against Cena proposing are 11/4. Which means that if you bet $4, and he doesn't pop the question, you almost triple your original investment, getting $11 back. Bet 400 bucks, win 1100. Now that's some great action.
If Cena was smart, he'd bet like a million dollars on himself to not propose, then just "forget" the ring in his hotel room or something, do it on the SmackDown after Mania, get huge ratings for WWE on USA.
So what do you say, Fightful Faithful, you gonna plunk some cash down on that sweet, sweet action and hope that love doesn't win the day on April 2nd?
I gotta say, I'm thinking about it.
