Conor McGregor Says Terence Crawford Turned Down Two-Fight Deal Worth $200 Million

In October 2024, Terence Crawford revealed that he turned down two-fight deal against Conor McGregor where one fight would be contested under boxing rules and the other under MMA rules.

Crawford said about the deal, “Man, I’m not getting in no fucking Octagon with you so you can be kicking and elbowing me and shit.”

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show with Ariel Helwani, McGregor gave his side of what happened.

“I like Terence. He’s a great boxer. [Turki Al-Sheikh] has me on this call and they are presenting me with belt opportunities. The Terence Crawford one came up. Two-fight deal. I said I’ve done the boxing, they have to come to me now. I’ll do the boxing after. We worked out a two-fight deal, mixed martial arts first, boxing after. I said, ‘He’s not going to accept it.’ Gets on the phone. ‘What’s the crack, Terence. I got the big fella here. We got a big deal for you. $200 million to be exact. Mixed martial arts and boxing. ‘I don’t want to be kicked by you.’ He didn’t want to do it. That’s fine, that’s his own thing. I don’t know how you couldn’t. I don’t know how, as a man or combatant, that you couldn’t want to test yourself,” said McGregor.

McGregor also took exception to Crawford’s comments regarding Ilia Topuria, who previously expressed interest in boxing Crawford.

After Topuria lost to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250, Crawford wrote, “This the guy that said he would knock me out and whoop me and Shakur at the same time?” followed by laughing emojis.

McGregor and Crawford got into an exchange after Crawford’s initial tweet.

Crawford retired from boxing in December 2025.
