Karl Anderson: Do I Think AJ Styles Could Come Back And Do Something At AEW Or Something Else? 100%. Will He? I Don’t Know.

Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows comment on the retirement of AJ Styles.
Styles has been a popular topic conversation throughout 2026, especially after stating that he could come out of retirement to take part in a match with his son(s).
In a new interview with The Wrestling Classic, Anderson chimed in the subject and said that he could see Styles coming out of retirement to do something with AEW.
“It’s surprising because AJ can still do what we all do, but he can do it still at a super high level. I think it all kind of came as a surprise to us and maybe even to him. I don’t mean that in a weird way, its just maybe things came up and it’s just like, wow, I think I need to retire. It just kind of felt like it came out of nowhere because AJ can still go and sell out a Tokyo Dome, he can still go and do things that people wish they could do in this business. I’m glad WWE called us to have us induct him. I’m glad that we could be there for him, he’s been so good to us through all the years. He’s been a brother to us for over a decade now. To be able to punch that home in that part of our career and be able to be the ones to kind of end it that way there, it’s great. Do I think AJ could come back out and do something at AEW or something else? 100%. Will he? I don’t know. He should because he can.”
Doc Gallows followed that up by joking about the current physical condition of Styles.
“We were wrestling his son and my son a couple of weeks ago and of course AJ is coming to the show because he’s a wrestler, he can’t get enough of it. He showed up late and I said to his wife Wendy, ‘Where’s AJ?’ She said, ‘Oh, he had to go tanning.’ Then he showed up more jacked than I’ve seen him in 10 years and I go, ‘Retired, huh? Cool.’”
Earlier this month, AJ Styles commented on LA Knight and said that he’s ready to be a world champion. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
