Truth Magnum Shares That Mark Henry Advocated For The Outrunners To Be Signed By AEW: “He Went & Talked To Tony For Us Twice”
Mark Henry wanted The Outrunners to be signed.
The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) have been under contract with All Elite Wrestling since 2024.
Magnum detailed how that came to be during his appearance on LiMPiN AiNT EASY. He stated that he and Floyd asked AEW President Tony Khan for a contract. He added that they’d been doing work for AEW for a while, so he thinks that Khan already thought they were signed.
“So we started getting extra in work and like I said, we sold our asses off. ‘Yeah, come on back for the next one.’ So then we started looking at their tour schedule, and we hit ‘em up. Say they were in Buffalo or something. We’d be like, ‘Oh, yeah, we happen to be in town. Can we stop by?’ And we clearly weren’t — well, they didn’t know that. So, they’d say yes and we’d drive our asses eight, twelve hours sometimes to wherever they were, and they were using us so much that by the time we actually asked Tony (Khan) for a contract, I think he thought we were already under contract, and then the whole experience was so surreal. One day I’m at my computer and I see I got a Twitter message from Tony Khan, and I didn’t look at it because I thought it was fake. Turbo (Floyd) texted me and he’s like, ‘Did you see the message from Tony?’ And I’m like, ‘Ah, okay. I’ll check it out.’ ‘Hey, do you wanna wrestle Sting tomorrow?’ And I was like, ‘Uh, yes. Yes please. Absolutely. Yes sir.’”
Magnum went on to share that former AEW commentator and coach Mark Henry advocated for them to be signed to the company.
“Somebody told us that Mark Henry got up by the monitor, was like, ‘This is how you tag team wrestle. This is how you do it.’ This is our third or fourth match there, and that was another key sign, and Mark Henry, he went and talked to Tony (Khan) for us twice, saying, ‘You gotta sign these guys.’”
Magnum, Floyd, and Dalton Castle had a run as the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions. Their reign came to an end in August 2026.
