Steve Maclin Details Being Told He Was Going To Face Adam Copeland At MLP Northern Rising

Steve Maclin discussed being told about the Adam Copeland match.

At MLP Northern Rising, Steve Maclin went up against Adam Copeland in a Street Fight. This match was the main event of the night, and it ended with Copeland defeating Maclin.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Maclin talked about being told about this match and his reaction to the same.

“I actually got told by my wife. Originally I was supposed to be in the four-way Monsters Ball match and then my wife’s calling me and she’s like, ‘Hey, Adam just came up to me and said, ‘Hey, it’s me and your husband.’ She’s like, ‘What are you talking about?’ I explained this in the documentary on the part one of how it went down where here’s my wife telling me from Adam being so just animate and excited about this matchup and idea. Instantly in my head, I’m like, ‘Get the fuck out of here, no way.’ You have no idea how the little kid in me is just smiling from ear to ear and was like, ‘Hell yeah, this is everything as a pro wrestler that I’ve always wanted to is to get into the ring with a legend like this from the Attitude Era, from the era that I grew up watching, that we grew up watching and to show the world that I know I belong.’ I’ve known that for a long time, but you want to go out there and prove yourself and ultimately to your own self.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Maclin talked about breaking his leg ten weeks before this match. Fans can read his full comments by clicking here.
