Batista Says He Did Not Like How CM Punk Left WWE

Batista said Punk left wrestling the wrong way.

In a recent episode of E & C's Pod of Awesomeness, Edge and Christian asked Dave Batista about his 2014 return to WWE. When he showed up at the 2014 Royal Rumble match, he received a mixed reaction from the crowd. The three wrestlers discussed how the reaction originated from the fans' displeasure with how CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were being treated by the company. CM Punk would leave WWE soon after Batista arrived.

Batista said he found the fan reaction weird because the fans were ignoring the wrestlers in front of them. He specifically mentioned after CM Punk left there were still chants for him.

"You guys know, I love Punk. I always got along with Punk. I had to hear from people that he left because I came back. I was like 'where the hell did that come from?' I've said I wasn't crazy about the way he left. Because it's just not the way we did business. We just don't do that," said Batista "Brock did it way back in the day as well. You know we got a million guys lined up to put him over and he just leaves," he added.

Batista went on to say he respects CM Punk but can not agree with how he left. Batista believes a wrestler should "give back" to the company before leaving. In the rest of the interview, Batista discussed his acting career and any potential wrestling future.
