EXCLUSIVE: Matt Riddle Describes Finding Out Drew Galloway Was Heading to NXT

Matt Riddle almost faced Drew Galloway twice during Wrestlemania week.

On April 1st, Riddle won the WWN World Championship in a six-way elimination match at WWN Live Supershow. WWN represents the streaming network which covers promotions like Progress and EVOLVE. Earlier in the same week Riddle lost in a "grudge match" against Galloway (now known as Drew McIntyre) at an EVOLVE event. On Fightful Wrestling's BROCAST Riddle said Galloway was in the WWN World Championship match but was pulled hours ahead because he was due to appear on NXT Takeover: Orlando

"Galloway didn't even know until (Saturday) when they pulled him from the match. He was supposed to be in the WWN title match as well," said Riddle

Riddle was beat by Galloway after he was given a piledriver through a table. Riddle says the original plan was to have him beat Galloway in the WWN World Championship match as revenge.

"That's where it was going, probably be me and Galloway, the final two in the ring and then I go over, which was probably going happen,  but WWE had to snatch him out of my grasp," said Riddle.

Galloway appeared sitting in the crowd during the broadcast of NXT Takeover: Orlando under his old WWE name "Drew McIntyre". He had been out of the WWE since 2014 after he was a part of 3 Man Band with Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater. Also during Fightful Wrestling's BROCAST, Riddle talked about his other matches during Wrestlemania week. He faced UFC Hall of Famer Dan Severn and WWE United Kingdom tournament participant Trent Seven. He also talked about his opinions of Wrestlemania 33

Riddle appears on Thursdays on Fightful Wrestling's BROCAST. The episodes are available immediately with free membership.
