UFC Fight Night 205 Highlights: Jessica Andrade Scores Highlight Reel Submission

A fight card that looked rather unimpressive on paper delivered an ample amount of highlights, including a first-ever submission in the history of the UFC. Check out that and the rest of the highlights after the jump.

Jessica Andrade def. Amanda Lemos via Submission (Standing Arm Triangle Choke) (Rd. 1 3:13)

Jessica Andrade is mostly known for her heavy hands, but she flipped the script and secured the very first standing arm-triangle choke in UFC history to get the submission victory in her return to strawweight. Amanda Lemos came out strong throwing heavy shots, but she got caught in the arm-triangle, and rather than using it to transition to the ground, Andrade is strong enough to just get the finish from there. Outstanding stuff, and an easy submission of the year contender.

Claudio Puelles def. Clay Guida via Submission (Kneebar) (Rd. 1 3:00)

Claudio Puelles astonishingly scored his fourth kneebar victory of his short career, and ran his win streak to five with a first round victory over veteran Clay Guida. Puelles looked lethal on the ground, threatening almost every submission possible before finally cinching in his signature submission.

Maycee Barber def. Montana De La Rosa via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

In a grinding fight that was almost entirely contested in the clinch or on the ground, Maycee Barber got the win over Montana De La Rosa. Barber showed increased aggression, and perhaps that her shift to Team Alpha Male was paying dividends.

Charles Jourdain def. Lando Vannata via Submission (Guillotine Choke) (Rd. 1 2:32)

After seeing his fellow Quebecer get the guillotine finish in the previous fight, compatriot Charles Jourdain followed it up with one of his own vs. Lando Vannata in the very next fight.

Marc-Andre Barriault def. Jordan Wright via Submission (Guillotine Choke) (Rd. 1 2:36)

In a surprising outcome, Marc-Andre Barriault scored the first submission victory of his career by getting a quick guillotine over Jordan Wright

Sergey Khandozhko def. Dwight Grant via TKO (Punches) (Rd. 2 4:15)

In the first actually good fight of the night, Sergey Khandozkho scored a stoppage victory in his return to the cage after a two year injury enforced layoff. Both Khandozkho and his opponent Dwight Grant had their moments, and the fight featured multiple shifts in momentum. Good fight.

Tyson Pedro def. Ike Villanueva via KO (Leg Kick and Punches) (Rd 1 4:55)

After a four year absence from the octagon, Tyson Pedro returned with a bang, scoring a rare leg kick TKO victory over Ike Villanueva.

Aoriqileng def. Cameron Else via TKO (Ground and Pound) (Rd. 1 2:48)

Returning to his natural weight class, the Mongolian Aoriqileng demolished Cameron Else, rocking him with a massive body shot to score a knockdown, and then following up with relentless ground and pound to get the finish.

Preston Parsons def. Evan Elder via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Preston Parsons completely dominated his fight against Evan Elder, spending the majority of the first two rounds in dominant positions, and threatened multiple submissions, especially an arm triangle. While Elder was largely dominated, he showed incredible heart, considering he was fighting up a division, and on less than a week's notice.

Philipe Lins def. Marcin Prachnio via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

In a close fight that featured mostly wrestling and not a ton of action, Philipe Lins got the win over Marcin Prachnio in his return to the light heavyweight division.

Mike Jackson def. Dean Barry via Disqualification (Eye Poke) (Rd. 1 3:52)

In a foul-filled fight that was nowhere near UFC calibre Mike Jackson picked up his first professional win via disqualification when Dean Barry was DQ'd for a brutal eye poke. Jackson showed almost nothing in the cage, but was kicked low twice, and then eye poked in order to get the win. This was one of the worst fights in UFC history, and there was no excuse for it being made. The only part of this fight that was worthwhile was Jackson's expletive-laden commentary while he lay on the mat recovering from his low-blow
