Alex Saucedo Responds To Maurice Hooker's Comments On Having No Defense

Alex Saucedo had some words to say about Maurice Hooker's comments on him getting hit.

In a media workout days before he is set to fight Hooker for the WBO junior welterweight champion, Saucedo spoke on his upcoming matchup against Hooker. Hooker recently stated in an exclusive interview with Fightful that he views Saucedo as someone that does not have a defensive game and is easy to hit. The response came after Hooker was asked by Fightful on what kind of fighter does he prefer to fight: a technical boxer such as Terry Flanagan, whom Hooker beat to win the title, or an aggressive puncher such as Saucedo.

Taking offense to those kinds of remarks, the undefeated Saucedo responded by talking about Hooker's record, which includes three draws. Saucedo said if someone like Hooker has that many draws on his record, then perhaps Hooker isn't that easy to hit.

"I'm going to show boxing fans the real me on November 16. He can say what he wants about me getting hit a lot, but I don't have any draws on my record. He says I've been hit a lot, but if you have three draws on your record, that means you're not that hard to hit," Saucedo said.

The two are set to fight in the main event of a Top Rank card from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. The main card will be televised on ESPN at midnight ET on November 16 with the undercard being streamed on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. ET.
