Bethe Correia Says Fans Are Begging For Her To Comeback

Bethe Correia is back in action this coming weekend at UFC 237, facing Irene Aldana in a women’s bantamweight division attraction.

It has been quite awhile since Correia last competed and the fighter says that fans have been begging for her to comeback.

“The division needs me. Coming back to fight, coming back to the wins,” Correia said to MMA Fighting. “Things were way cooler when I was more active. I think the division needs Bethe Correia coming back and winning this fight. I will always be a strong name fight for the belt. People are begging for me to come back."

Correia last competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night Singapore, suffering a third round knockout loss to Holly Holm.

The returning Correia is happy to be fighting Aldana at UFC 237, especially since the two have been booked together twice before.

”I’m really glad that I’m fighting Irene,” she said. “If they are booking this fight for the third time, that’s because it has to happen. I’ve watched her last couple of fights, that were supposed to be against me, and she’s a true brawler. She has that typical Mexican spirit. I think it’s going to be a great fight.”

UFC 237 takes place on Saturday, May 11 from the Arena Da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil with Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
