Dana White Says Cory Sandhagen/Aljamain Sterling Fight A Title Eliminator

A pair of bantamweights in Cory Sandhagen and Aljamain Sterling will battle tomorrow night at UFC 250.

The stakes for that fight just got a lot higher, as UFC President Dana White says the bout is a title eliminator.

“Yeah, I agree (that Cory Sandhagen vs. Aljamain Sterling is a title eliminator),” White said to MMA Junkie. “For sure.”

No matter who winds up winning tomorrow night, it will earn either fighter their first shot at the UFC Bantamweight Title.

Former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo and Petr Yan are expected to fight for the vacant bantamweight title, but White says he may have jumped the gun announcing that fight.

“I think I prematurely announced it like I do sometimes,” White said. “We don’t have all the info for that yet.”

UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, June 6 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
