There have been several allegations levied against Cerrone after the bout, saying that he threw the bout so the more popular McGregor can get his rematch with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Ndrmagomedov.
Some folks on Twitter recently took aim at Cerrone for allegedly throwing the UFC 246 main event and Cerrone would fire back against them (via MMA Fighting):
“Take a dive you stupid motherf*cker? Who you think you’re talking to? Get a f*cking life.”
“You think that’s funny? You feel like I’m the kind of man that would sell my soul? Do me a favor and unfollow me if that’s how you feel.”
Cerrone also had to answer to fight fixing allegations before the bout against McGregor and it seems live they haven’t gone away almost two weeks after the bout took place.
This isn't the only bit of controversy that Cerrone has been involved in after UFC 246, as ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith heavily criticized Cerrone's performance at the event, which lead to a back and forth with UFC color commentator Joe Rogan and McGregor.
