Mayweather and McGregor met once before at what was dubbed “The Money Fight,” with Mayweather earning a tenth round TKO win. Mayweather has been challenged in the past by Nurmagomedov and Mayweather said he would only box the UFC Lightweight Champion.

UFC President Dana White says that he spoke with Mayweather during UFC 246 and says their are plans with Mayweather for 2020.

“Listen, we’re doing something with Floyd. We’re doing something with Floyd,” White said at the UFC 246 post-fight press conference (via Simon Samano of MMA Junkie). “And, umm, you know … I don’t know. It’s like, tonight’s the night of the fight, you got the Khabib fight coming, and there’s just so much going on. Floyd is in our plans, and we are in Floyd’s plans this year, and we’ll end up doing something.”

While Nurmagomedov has a title defense lined up for UFC 249, no future plans have been announced by McGregor or Mayweather at this time.
