The world of mixed martial arts could be undergoing a huge change following Wednesday as former Bellator MMA owner Bjorn Rebney, former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez, former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw, UFC veteran Tim Kennedy and UFC veteran Donald Cerrone are planning on making an “industry changing” announcement.

A media alert was issued to Fightful.com regarding a Wednesday conference call, which we'll be covering in full.

Rebney has never been associated with the UFC, but owned it’s biggest rival in Bellator MMA. The other mentioned names all compete in the UFC, outside of GSP, who is currently in a legal war with the promotion over his contractual status.

Also something to note is that all the fighters other than Cerrone are represented by Creative Arts Agency, which is the biggest rival to the current owners of the UFC, WME-IMG. Cerrone and Kennedy have gone on record stating that they would advocate forming a fighter’s union. This will also be Rebney’s first MMA related appearance since being ousted from Bellator MMA in 2014.
