Islam Makhachev Claims His Next Fight Will Be His Last

Islam Makhachev claims that he’s going to fight one more time and then retire.

Makhachev is the reigning UFC Welterweight Champion, and broke the record for the longest win streak in UFC history with his 17th straight victory in his last fight when he defeated Ian Machado Garry.

From Makhachev:

My next fight is one of the last in my career.

They say Prates is too dangerous for me and Morales is too good for me.

So I want to face the best of them and prove to the world once again who is the best in world.

Carlos Prates and Michael Morales are set to battle for the Interim Welterweight Title in January. The bout was made as Makhachev opted not to fight in January due to Ramadan. Earlier this year, he said he would only fight three more times in the sport as he wants to set a 20-fight win streak.

It is unknown when Makhachev will fight again.
