Jack Hermansson On UFC Vegas 16: “At Least Five Guys Turned The Fight Down”

Jack Hermansson was scheduled to fight Darren Till in the main event of UFC Vegas 16, but Till suffered an injury and was replaced by Kevin Holland.

While Hermansson is happy to still be headlining the card against Holland, he also revealed that at least five other fighters turned down the chance to be a replacement opponent.

Hermansson said the following in a video posted on Instagram (transcript via Brett Okamoto of ESPN):

"I was really looking forward to fighting Darren and would show you guys I'm the best middleweight in Europe and the true contender. I can only wish Darren Till a good recovery. When we got the news, we asked UFC for a replacement fight because the training camp has been going so good and I really want one more fight this year. So they started asking people above me in the rankings and below me in the rankings, and at least five guys turned the fight down. But there was one guy willing to fight and that was Kevin Holland."

There is no word from Hermansson as to which five fighters turned down the opportunity to face him.
